Sinopec Economic and Technology Research Institute expects non‑fossil fuels to account for over one‑third of China's energy mix by 2035 and projects the fossil‑fuel share will fall below 50% around 2045. The institute says China is likely to hit peak carbon emissions before 2030 and forecasts natural gas demand will exceed 50 bcm by 2030.
