At 18:00 on Aug 26, the Tibet Border Inspection’s Shigatse border management detachment dispatched 26 officers to assist evacuations of villages within 14 km of Gyirong port. Authorities moved 42 residents from Laojiang village to Gyirong town, and transferred 180 from Guoba, 40 from Seqiong and 107 from Labi — 327 people in total — to Sale village in Sale township. All villages in the port’s danger zone have been evacuated.
