The National Flood and Drought Control Headquarters and the Ministry of Emergency Management activated a level-4 flood-control emergency response at 10:00 on Aug. 25 for Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Inner Mongolia and Qinghai. Meteorological forecasts show significant rainfall over the next three days across northwest China, Inner Mongolia and North China; eastern and southern Qinghai, western Inner Mongolia, central Hebei, Beijing and Tianjin are expected to see heavy to torrential rain, with very heavy falls in some areas and locally extreme downpours.
