CENC recorded a M4.7 earthquake at 08:26 Beijing time on Aug. 24, 2026, in Changning County, Yibin, Sichuan; focal depth 5 km. The China Earthquake Administration initiated a level-4 emergency response, directing the China Earthquake Networks Center and the Sichuan provincial seismic bureau to carry out emergency measures, convene joint assessments, strengthen seismic monitoring and analysis, and promptly report developments.
