FIFA confirmed on Aug. 17 it has terminated the employment of chief operating officer Kevin Lamour. British media, including Sky News, reported the dismissal followed Lamour's public criticism of FIFA president Gianni Infantino's proposal to sell portions of World Cup and other tournament stakes to private investors.
