Standard Bank's Namibian unit announced on the 10th it has gone live with the RMB Cross-border Interbank Payment System (CIPS), becoming the first bank in Namibia to offer direct RMB settlement. CEO Erwin Chipuka said the service will speed settlement, reduce FX risk and give companies trading with China a competitive edge.
