CFTC data: In the week to Aug. 4, speculators in CBOT U.S. Treasury futures cut net short positions by 41,225 contracts to 176,272. 2‑year net shorts fell by 120,346 contracts to 1,004,228, while 5‑year net shorts rose by 179,319 contracts to 1,325,719. Ultra‑long Treasury net shorts declined by 5,723 contracts to 314,985.
