The Baltic Dry Index fell, ending a five-day rally as declines in Capesize and Supramax freight rates outweighed Panamax gains. The BDI slipped 6 points, or 0.2%, to 3,057, near levels last seen on June 4. The Capesize index dropped 42 points, or 0.8%, to 5,052 — its first decline since July 29 — with Capesize daily earnings down $385 to $42,313. The Panamax index rose 39 points, or 1.7%, to 2,275, its highest since June 15, lifting Panamax daily earnings $345 to $20,473. The Supramax index fell 4 points, or 0.3%, to 1,608.
