Mexico’s National Seismological Service (SSN) said a magnitude-5.0 quake occurred at 10:15:56 local time on July 31 about 165 km southwest of Mapastepec in southeastern Chiapas, at an estimated depth of 10 km. Mexico’s seismic alert system did not activate; no casualties or property damage reported so far.
