Philippine exports rose 24.1% YoY to $8.77 bln in June, a record and the fastest pace in over a year, beating a median 8% forecast, the Philippine statistics agency said. United Bank chief economist Ruben Carlo Asuncion said the data indicate the Philippines retains a favourable position in regional and global electronics supply chains despite global uncertainty. Exports provide relief for an economy facing slowing growth and widening budget and current-account deficits. The government expects exports to grow 3% this year, down from 15.3% in 2025 when growth was boosted by Middle East-related trade flows. Electronics exports jumped about one-third to $5.25 bln, accounting for nearly 60% of June shipments; the United States remained the top market, taking roughly one-fifth of exports.
