U.S. Treasury yields climbed to their highest levels this year as rising oil prices, driven by the Iran conflict, stoked inflation concerns and weighed on bonds. The 10-year yield rose to 4.48% before easing, while the 30-year approached 5%. Since the U.S. strike on Iran, yields have tracked oil higher amid supply disruptions. John Briggs said “yields are moving higher along with oil as a 10-day delay isn’t good news.” Markets have shifted from expecting rate cuts to pricing potential hikes in 2026, reflecting elevated inflation expectations and fiscal pressures.
